RTI Question

"If a student is in a Tier Two or Three intervention this year...when next year begins do we need to start the RTI process over again?"----------------------RFISHER's RESPONSE: No. If a student is moving to a different school next year or to the next grade every effort should be made to communicate to the new school/grade what interventions have been tried and the progress monitoring data (graphs)from these interventions to show whether or not they were effective. The other school does not have to use the exact same intervention. Point is that we don't want to start over with a tier III student and delay further, the help they may need.

The process is much simpler that I first believed. What happens when interventions are in place without results and parents do not want ECE services? ---------- Rfisher's RESPONSE: Great Question! Unfortunately, we must have parent permission to begin the process. In the meantime, our only choice is to continue with Tier III intervention services.
