Swim Wins Ohio Meet

   The Allen County-Scottsville swim team earned first place honors on Thursday, November 21 in a tri-meet with Ohio County and Butler County at Hartford. The Patriots placed first in the meet in combined scores of the women and men’s teams. In boys and girls scoring, the Lady Patriots were first while the Patriots missed first by four points (278-274). 

   The Lady Patriots 200-yard medley relay team of Emma Brown (backstroke), Leah Hartman (breast stroke), Allison Davis (butterfly), and Sarah Davis (freestyle) placed first. AC-S entered two teams in the 200y free relay with the team of Leah Hartman, Brown, Sarah Davis, and Allison Davis taking first and swimmers Shelby Costello, AnnMarie Shirley, Quinn Hartman, and Mattie Tuttle placing second. The Lady Patriot 400y free relay team of Costello, Ella Rickard, Quinn Hartman, and were second.

   The Patriot 200y medley relay team of Ryan Wolfe (back), Tad Kolton Taylor (breast), Aaron Shain (fly) and Bradley Wagoner (free) placed first. The 200y relay team of Wagoner, Wessly Butler, Shain, and Tad Kolton Taylor finished second while the 400y free relay group of Butler, Anthony Carranco, Kash Taylor, and Wolfe placed first.

   Individually for the Lady Patriots, in the 200y free, Allison Davis was second while Quinn Hartman placed fourth. Allison Davis was first in the 500y free with a time of 6:44.30. Leah Hartman was first in the 200y IM. The girl’s 50y free event included four Lady Patriots. Sarah Davis placed first, Tuttle was second, Rickard and Shirley also scored points. Leah Hartman was second in the 100y fly with Brown third. Costello was first in the girls 100y free with Quinn Hartman fourth. Brown placed first in the girls’ 100y backstroke. Additional Lady Patriot finishes in the event were a third place for Tuttle, a fourth for Costello and a fifth for Rickard. The girls’ 100y breast was won by Sarah Davis with a time of 1:19.55 with Shirley finishing fourth. 

   Individual results for the Patriots saw Shain first in the 200 IM and second in the 100y fly. In the 50y free, Taylor took top honors, followed by Wagoner in second. Kash Taylor was fourth, and Carranco was fifth. In the 100y free, Butler was second, Kash Taylor placed third, and Carranco was fourth. Tad Taylor took top honors in the boys 500y free. Wolfe was second in the 100y backstroke and the 200y free. Wagoner was first and Butler fourth in the 100y breast.

   The AC-S swim team participated Saturday, November 23, at the Warren County Invitational---a 12-team event at the Warren County Aquatics Center in Bowling Green.

   In individual events for the Patriots, Tad Kolton Taylor posted a time of 1:59.13 to place sixth in the 200-yard freestyle. Taylor also placed seventh in the 100y free with a time of 53.87. Aaron Shain was 10th in the 200y Individual Medley (IM) with a time of 2:04.42. Shain was also 18th in the 100y free (1:00.50). Bradley Wagoner scored a 15th place in 50y free (27.18) and the 100y breast (1:22.73). Wessly Butler competed in the 100y free (1:06.26) and placed ninth in 100y back (1:17.89). Ryan Wolfe recorded a pair of sixth place finishes. In the 500y free, Wolfe notched a time of 6:09.40 and had a time of 1:16.52 in the 100y backstroke. Kash Taylor participated in the 50y free (30.18) and the 100-yard free (1:10.27).

   The AC-S 200y freestyle relay team of Shain, Butler, Taylor, and Wagoner was seventh with a time of 1:49.15. Shain, Wolfe, Taylor, and Wagoner were 11th in the 200y medley relay.

   For the Lady Patriots, Leah Hartman was sixth in the 200y IM in a time of 2:44.57 and fifth in the 100 yard breast after a time of 1:21.69. Quinn Hartman swam in the 200y free (3:00.49) and the 100y free (1:20.41), finishing in the top-26 in each. Emma Brown placed 13th in the 100y in the time of 1:21.50. Shelby Costello swim in the 50y free (34.46) and the 100 y free (1:19.48, finishing in the top 25 in each event. Mattie Tuttle posted a time of 33.99 in the 50y free, Ella Rickard took part in the 100y back (1:53.18) and the 50y freestyle (43.66) events. AnnMarie Shirley posted a 1:48.25 in the 100y breaststroke.

   In relays, Leah Hartman, Brown, Costello, and Tuttle earned a 10th place in the 200y free (2:09.82) and a 12th place in the 200y medley (2:25.20). Tuttle, Quinn Hartman, Shirley, and Rickard, were 13th in the 400y free (6:01.78).

   AC-S’s next swim meet is slated for December 10 at Russell County.
