DECA students from the Allen County Career and Technical Center earned multiple awards at their annual Region 2 competition last week in Bowling Green.
First place winners in the daylong competition were Spencer Boatwright (Community
Giving Project), John Calvert (Buying and Merchandising Team), Katherine Foster
(Accounting Applications), Sally McPherson (Marketing Communications), Kaylee Murley
(Principles of Finance), Brayden Richer (Personal Financial Literacy), Joshua
Sikes (Food Marketing), Keylie Smith (Hotel and Lodging Management), Haleigh
Steenbergen (Buying and Merchandising Team), Grace Tuttle (Community Giving
Project), Bradley Wagoner (Principles of Hospitality and Tourism), Mattie Ward
(Apparel and Accessories Marketing and Region 2 DECA scholarship), Tanner Webb
(Principles of Business Management and Administration), and Preston Wimpee
(Community Giving Project).
Second place winners included Harleigh Grissom (Hospitality and Tourism
Professional Selling) and Bailey Pitts (Principles of Hospitality and Tourism).
Placing third in competitions were Rafe Blankenship (Travel and Tourism
Team), Allie Byrn (Business Services Marketing), Kalen Coleman (Travel and Tourism
Team), Colton Costello (Hotel and Lodging Management), Trinity Duke (Buying and
Merchandising Team), Olivia Harwood (Human Resources Management), Kevin Hudson
(Automotive Services Marketing), Hunter Krulik (Principles of Marketing),
Robert Lindsey (Quick Serve Restaurant Management), Raelyn Russell (Buying and Merchandising
Team), Rayleigh Steenbergen (Principles of Business Management and Administration),
and Korie Thomason (Principles of Finance).
Fourth place award winners included Mackenzie Barton (Hospitality
Services Team), Emma Cline (Hospitality Services Team), Wyatt Coffee (Business
Services Marketing), Macy Croft (Principles of Marketing), Jeremiah Jones
(Principles of Hospitality and Tourism), Kennidy Poynter (Principles of Business
Management and Administration), Abigail Rather (Quick Serve Restaurant Management),
and Emily Strode (Principles of Finance).
Placing fifth in competition were Layne Blankenship (Food Marketing),
Lily Caldwell (Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team), Tyler Ford (Sports and
Entertainment Marketing Team), Parker Groce (Quick Serve Restaurant Management),
and Zena-Cole Pinson (Restaurant and Food Services Marketing).
Earning sixth place awards were Caden Costello (Automotive Services Marketing),
Jordan Turner (Restaurant and Food Services Management), and Thorny Walker
(Principles of Marketing).
Brayden was also selected as the Member of the Year.
