Seven Allen County-Scottsville High School runners participated Saturday
in the annual Gatorland Run at the Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green.
Patriot eighth-grader James Tyler Stanger covered the 5K course in a
time of 17:43.71 to place 25th in the field of 314 runners. Stanger was the
highest finishing eighth grader taking part in the varsity meet.
AC-S junior Tad Kolton Taylor finished 35th overall following a time of
18:00.53. Taylor’s time was the 16th fastest time posted by a junior runner.
Seventh-grader Alex Stamps posted a time of 28:42.27 in the event.
For the Lady Patriots, eighth-grader Sarah Davis led the way for her
team. Davis posted a time of 24:05.00, recording the 10th best time by an
eighth-grader in the varsity run. Sally McPherson (24:47.53), Madi Gregory
(27:18.43), and Kian White (29:05.59) also competed in the 188 girls’ field.
AC-S’s runners will return to action on October 3 as they are scheduled
to take part in the Southern Kentucky Conference Meet in Bowling Green.
