An orientation meeting for any student-athlete
from the James E. Bazzell Middle School or the Allen County-Scottsville High
School interested in playing golf for the Patriot boys team will be held on Thursday,
July 12 at 7 p.m. at the Scottsville Country Club.
According to AC-S boys golf coach Scott
Stamper, the meeting will cover required paperwork (Kentucky High School
Athletic Association physical forms, Scottsville Country Club insurance and liability
forms, and parental permission travel forms), tryout procedures,
team/tournament qualifying, and expectations (academics/behavior/work ethic).
Each perspective golfer must have at least one parent/guardian present at the
meeting.
The Patriot golf team will begin tryouts on
Monday, July 16 at 7 a.m. at the Scottsville Country Club. The boys golf team
will open the 2018 golf season with tournament action on Friday, July 27.
Tournament and team match play will continue through August and September. The
boys’ regional tournament is slated for late September in Franklin.
According to Lady Patriot golf coach Amy
Williams, a similar meeting for student-athletes interesting in participating
on the girls’ golf team will be held on a different date.
