SECOND GAME

The Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriots picked up their second win of the day with a 5-1 victory over St. Francis DeSales (PA) at the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

Taylor Stamps reached base four times and drove in two, Allie Byrn was two-for-three at the plate, and Jae McReynolds also collected two hits to help AC-S post the win. Karley Burchett recorded the win on the mound, allowing one run on four hits. Burchett also notched four strikeouts and walked two batters.

St. Francis scored a run in the top of the second and maintained a 1-0 lead until the bottom of the fifth. Consecutive one out singles by Jae McReynolds, Jordon Anderson, and Taylor Stamps ignited the AC-S offense. After a ground out forced McReynolds at the plate, Madi Gregory walked to allow Anderson to score the tying run. Allie Byrn followed with a two-run single to plate Stamps and Gregory and lift the Lady Patriots to a 3-1 lead.

The Lady Patriots added a pair of insurance runs in the home half of the sixth. After reaching on singles, KayLee Stafford and McReynolds scored on a triple by Stamps.

AC-S (5-1) is scheduled to play the Academy of Notre Dame at 8 a.m. and Chesterfield at 10 Wednesday morning.
