The Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriot softball team ripped 13 hits in
a five-inning 11-0 win over Glasgow Tuesday afternoon at Lady Patriot Field.
Taylor Stamps, Madi Gregory, and Allie Byrn lead the AC-S offense as
each ripped three hits. Stamps scored four time while Gregory drove in four
runs in the game. Byrn finished with three RBI’s. Kassi Bullington added a pair
of hits and plated three teammates as well.
Defensively, Kris-Anne Pardue surrounded three hits in four innings of
work with Karley Burchett giving up one hit in an inning of relief. Pardue and
Burchett combined for six strikeouts.
AC-S pushed two runs across the plate on a single by Gregory in the
first. Two innings later, Bullington tripled to score a run. Gregory followed,
blasting a two-run homer---her second round-tripper in as many games to stake
AC-S to a 5-0 lead. Byrn drove home the
team’s sixt run in the fourth. Two walks, two hits, and a two-run double by
Byrn in the bottom of the fifth completed the scoring for the Lady Patriots.
The Lady Patriots (2-0) are slated to host Russell County (1-3) Thursday
afternoon, weather permitting. AC-S is also scheduled to play Trigg County
(2-0) and Boyle County (1-3) on Saturday at the high school field as part of a
three-team round-robin event.
AC-S will leave late Sunday for Myrtle Beach South Carolina to play five
games in the Cal Ripken Experience. The Lady Patriots will face Marcellus at 8
a.m. (CDT) and St. Francis DeSales at noon on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the Lady
Patriots have games against the Academy of Notre Dame at 8 am and Chesterfield
at 10. Thursday at 2 p.m. AC-S faces Bishop Watterson.
