Daniels Wins ACS Poetry Out Loud

    Allen County-Scottsville senior Suzanne Daniels is the 2018 AC-SH Poetry Out Loud winner.
 

 Daniels was selected Friday, February 9, as the 2018 school winner in the annual Poetry Out Loud competition at the local level. Daniels recited the poem "Quite Frankly" in front of a panel of teachers who served as the judges for the annual competition. 

  Twenty Allen County-Scottsville English students participated in last Friday's Poetry Out Loud contest. The students recited memorized poems as part of the school-level competition in the national event. POL particpants included,  Kelly Smallcanyon, Katelyn Bewley, Suzanne Daniels, Cydney Ford, Taylor Driver, Makenzie Patterson, Wesley Woolbright, Brianna Berry, McKenzie Dennis, Nina Guerrero, Lori Pendley, Savannah Shivers, Frankie Estes, Dawson Shorts, Nathaniel Stinson, Johnathan Carver, Austin Cockrill, Daniel Stephens, Douglas Werner, and Trae Brown.

 

   Poetry Out Loud is a national competition that has included three million students and 50,000 teachers from 10,000 schools since 2005. Daniels will now memorize three poems to prepare for the state Poetry Out Loud competition on March 13 in Frankfort.
