A three-hit shutout performance on the mound by senior Sheldon Peay helped the Allen County-Scottsville Patriots defeated the Glasgow Scotties Tuesday at Patriot Field.

Peay threw 56 pitches to the 23 batters he faced in a dominating effort Tuesday. The senior right-hander recorded four strikeouts, induced Scotties batters to ground out 15 times, and hurled 40 strikes in seven innings of work.

Offensively, the Patriot runs came on five hits. AC-S designated hitter Hunter Foster singled home Warren Bray in the second for the first round of the game. In the home half of the third, Marcus Carter’s single plated courtesy runner Dusty Craft to stake AC-S to a 2-0 lead. Peay finished the game with a single and double with Bray accounting for the other hit of the game for AC-S.

AC-S (4-1) will host Bowling Green (3-5) at 5 p.m. Thursday. Friday, the Patriots will welcome South Warren (4-5) for a 7 p.m. contest---a game that has been moved up a day due to weather concerns for Saturday.
