The Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriots completed a five-game run at the Cal Ripken Experience Thursday afternoon with a 6-1 win over Bishop Watterson (OH).

Senior Kris-Anne Pardue allowed five hits and recorded five strikeouts in earning the win for AC-S. Pardue faced 30 hitters and threw 107 pitches in the game.

Offensively, the Lady Patriots recorded eight hits. Senior KaeLee Stafford went three for four at the plate. Senior Kassi Bullington and freshman Jae McReynolds both added two hits and three RBI’s.

AC-S pushed a run across in the first. McReynolds’ double to open the game led to the first Lady Patriot run of the game. After the Eagles tied the game in the top of the second, sophomore Kaylee Bullington and Stafford scored on a double off the back of senior Kassi Bullington.

Singles by eighth-grader Bailey Ausbrooks and Stafford and a walk to senior Jordan Anderson loaded the bases in the home half of the third. McReynolds followed with a three RBI double to stake AC-S to a 6-1 lead. Pardue retired Bishop Watterson in order in the fourth, worked her way out of a two-on, no-out situation in the fifth, and overcame two walks in the sixth. In the seventh, a pair of singles and a walk left Pardue facing a bases loaded situation with no outs. Pardue induced Bishop Watterson to hit three ground balls. Anderson and Kassi Bullington forced runners at the plate before a ground out to Allie Byrn ended the game.

The win completed a 5-0 slate this week in the Lady Patriots’ trip to the Cal Ripken Experience in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. AC-S (8-1, 1-0) returns to the diamond Tuesday, April 10 with a road game at Monroe County (3-3).
