Track and Field in Action at Greenwood

   The Allen County-Scottsville track team participated in the Great Gator Invitational Friday afternoon at Greenwood High School. The large event featured track and field athletes from 23 schools representing Kentucky and Tennessee.

 

   Patriot results included a 25th place finish by Nick Cooper in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.09. Kelly Weger placed 26th in a 13.12 time in the same event. Nathan Hogue posted a time 26.60 to place 20th in the 200m dash with Cooper 22nd with a time of 26.98. In the 400m dash, Peyton Huff was 29th (1:02.05). In the 110m hurdles, Christian Silvano was 16th in the time of 21:49 with Kane Tangen placing 26th in the 300m hurdles (1:02.51).

 

   In distance events, Patriot James Jacobson posted a time of 2:58.50 in the 800m run, Conner Davenport recorded a time of 6:13.97 in the 1600m, and Tad Taylor had a time of 11:13,98 to finish 14th in the 3200m.

 

   The AC-S 4x100 relay team of Weger, Jacob Lightfoot, Blaine Payne, and Trace McIntyre was14th in their event in the time of 48.25. The same group placed 13th in the 4x200 in the time of 1:41.79. The 4x400 relay team of Jeff Haney, Huston Wilkins, Bradley Wagoner, and Matthew Witschey was 11th (5:18.40) with the 4x800 relay group of Taylor. Hogue, Justin Spearman, and Davi Thompson 12th (10:08.96).

 

   For the field events, Taylor was 27th in long jump (14’02.50) and Hogue was 28th 914’0.50). In triple jump, Thompson leaped 38’08.00 to place 10th. In the discus event, Austin Woods paced AC-S with a sling of 74’04.00 (28th) with Phillip Kinslow throwing 49’09.0. Woods recorded a throw of 29’09.00 and A.J. Maxwell had a toss of 26’07.00 in the shot.

 

   The Lady Patriot track and field athletes recorded several solid performances as well. In the 100m dash, Kerlandy Carver posted a time of 14.99 to place 28th with teammate Shy Grainger finishing with a time of 15.46. Carver recorded a time of 31.70 for a 20th spot in the 200m dash. Jaelyn Carter was 25th in the 400m dash with a time of 1:32.86 while Erin Jorgensen had a time of 1:33.51to finish 26th in the same event. In the 100m hurdles, Shelby Snyder was 22nd (23.98) with Gracie England finishing 16th in the 300m hurdles (1:09.45).

 

   Jorgensen finished the 800m run in 29th position (3:30.21) while Gabrielle Tangen was 27th in the 1600m run (7:02.75). Also in the 1600m, Rachel Moore posted a time of 7:23.72. Nina Guerrerro was 12th in the 3200m in the time of 15:06.58. 

 

   In relay events for the Lady Patriots, the team of Lily Cardwell, England, Abby Huff, and Hannah Cook ran to a 17th place finish in the 4x100 in the time of 1:06.70. The 4x200 relay team of Carver, England, Rylee Beaulieu, and Aleigha Ellis was 15th (2:10.44). The 4x400 team placed sixth with a time of 5:56.96. Members were Snyder, Carter, Rachel Moore, and Ada Noe.

 

  Two Lady Patriots participated in field events. Kiara Price was 22nd in the shot put (22’09.50) and 25th in long jump (10’04.50). Grainger was 18th in discus with a throw of 60’08.00.
