SkillsUSA Students Score Well at Region

Skills USA students

    Seven SkillsUSA club members took first places honors last Friday in Region competition held at the Barren County Area Technology Center, Warren County Area Technology Center, and the Bowling Green Chamber of Commerce. The students competed in both skills and leadership events.

 

   Regional first places winners from the Allen County Career and Technical Center included Erin Sipes in Architectural Board Drafting and Customer Service, Hunter Shores for Technical Board Drafting, Kyle King Technical CAD (Computer-Aided Drafting) and Extemporaneous Writing, Maggie Adams in Job Interview, Jessie Radcliff in SkillsUSA Spelling, Trent Huizenga in Pledge, and Cedric Gass in Construction Tool ID.

 

   Bring home second-place honors were Jessie Radcliff (Architectural Board Drafting), Timmy Saylors (Technical Board Drafting), Hunter Shores (Customer Service), Jack Vernon (Pledge), Tucker Tracy (Construction Tool ID), and Travis Hayes, Seth Parkhurst, and Ethan Givens (Welding Fabrication).

 

   The third-place winners were Madison Spradlin (Job Interview) and Joshua Herald (Industrial Motor Controls).

 

   Final scores will be submitted to the state SkillsUSA officials with many of the students expected to advance to the state competition in Louisville on April 11-14. A list of students competing at state will be released at a later date.
