Shayna Britt, a fifth-grader student at the Allen County Intermediate Center, was recently recognized as the school winner in the annual AARP Kentucky Grandparent of the Year essay contest.
“Fifth-graders were offered an opportunity to enter in the annual AARP Kentucky Grandparent of the Year essay contest sponsored by The Kentucky Retired Teachers Association,” noted ACIC educator Cheryl Miller. “The time and effort that Shayna spent in writing the essay is a great honor to her grandparent and celebrates the importance of grandparents in the lives of children everywhere.”
Britt recently received a Certificate of Recognition from AARP. Her essay will be forwarded to the next level of competition.
