Patriot Golf Places Third

   The Allen County-Scottsville Patriot golf teams participated in 18-hole events Thursday and Saturday in Bowling Green and Cub Run---with Saturday’s action seeing the Patriot golfers bring home a third-place trophy.

   In the Warren East Invitational Saturday at Shady Hollow Golf Course in Cub Run, Owen Stamper fired a 76 to place fourth in the field in individual play. Senior Dawson Birge finished with a round of 84 followed closely by junior Tate Stinson (85). Junior Brett Rippy carded an 89 while Bryson Bonds posted a score of 102.

   The action Saturday followed the Patriots’ play Thursday in the South Warren Invitational at the Crosswinds Golf Course in Bowling Green. Stamper led the way with a two-under par round of 70, finishing tied with several other golfers just off the winning score of 69.

   Additional scores from Crosswinds included an 80 by Stinson, a round of 84 by Birge, and an 86 by Rippy. Peyton Cline completed the team for AC-S and completed play with a score of 98.

   The Lady Patriot golf team of junior Hannah Beltz and eighth-grader Aly Miller played at Crosswinds as well on Thursday. Beltz notched a round of 98 with Miller finishing with a 109 in the ladies South Warren Invitational.

   AC -S’s boys will entertain Greenwood this Thursday with the Lady Patriots back in action Saturday at the Barren County Invitational at the Barren River Lake State Park. Both girls and boys will face Logan County/Russellville next Monday in Russellville.
