Tate Stinson Records Hole in One

(By Don Meador, September 8, 2017)

Allen County-Scottsville junior golfer Tate Stinson achieved a rare feat Thursday afternoon. Stinson dropped his tee shot onto the green and into the cup on the par-3 eighth hole at Kenny Perry’s Country Creek course in Franklin. The hole-in-one helped AC-S down Franklin-Simpson, allowing the Patriot golf team to improve to 10-1 on the year in head-to-head match-ups.

Stinson finished the day five shots under par, shooting a round of 31. Sophomore teammate Owen Stamper fired a four-under 32. Senior Dawson Birge carded a 41, junior Brett Rippy notched a 44, with sophomore Bryson Bonds shooting a 48.

The win marked the second time this season in which AC-S golfers have bested Franklin-Simpson in head-to-head play.

AC-S will be on the course tomorrow as the squad participates in the Bowling Green Invitational. Team members are scheduled to tee off around 7:30 a.m. at the Bowling Green Country Club.
