Track Team Participates in Great Gator

  The Allen County-Scottsville track team participated in their third track meet of the year Friday night at the Great Gator Invitational at Greenwood High School in Bowling Green. Overall, the Patriot runners placed ninth in team competition while the Lady Patriots were 14th in the field.

  In boys’ field events, Davi Thompson placed third in triple jump with a leap of 37’10.25.” Andy Apple was fifth in the shot put throwing a distance of 37’02.25” with Dillon Reid placing 13th in the field of 22 in the shot put (34’01.50”). In the discus throw, Reid was 14th with a toss of 81’.07” while Austin Woods placed 19th with a throw of 59’11” in the event. In the high jump, Conner Davenport leaped 5’0” to place sixth while Chase Ward tied for seventh (4’10”).

  In track events, Seth Latimer was 12th in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.38 with Kelly Weger posted a time of 12.95 to finish 18th in the event. Tad Taylor placed 13th in the 400m dash (1:06.22). In the 110m hurdles, Latimer was fifth (19.99) and Keijuan Galloway was sixth (20.96).

  The 4x100 relay team of Daniel Toby, Jacob Lightfoot, Latimer, and Weger finished eighth in their event with a 49.19 time. The 4x200 team of Weger, Lightfoot, Latimer, and Ward was third with the time of 1:41.46.

  Lady Patriot runner Alyson Maynard placed 17th in the 100m dash (16:38). Teammates Gracie England (1:35.97) and Josten Lightfoot (1:45.64) were 19th and 20th in the 400m dash. Gabrielle Tangen was 19th in the 1600m run. In the 100m hurdles, Macayla Vernon (21.71) was 15th with Hannah Cook placing 18th (30.46).

  The Lady Patriot 4x100 relay team of Grainger, A.J. Wilson, England, and Lightfoot was eighth in the time of 1:06.78. The 4x200 relay squad of Wilson, Grainger, Maynard, and Vernon placed 10th in the time of 2:10.16.

  In field events, Bailey Stamps placed seventh in the discus throw (60.09”) and 12th in the shot put (20.08.75). Wilson was 14th in long jump (10’11”).

  The AC-S track team will travel to Greenwood on Tuesday before hosting a track meet on Thursday, April 27. The Thursday meet will be the first home meet in years and feature participants from Barren County, Glasgow, and Monroe County. The meet will start with the National Anthem at 4:20 with competitions beginning at 4:30. Admission will be $5 per person. The evening will include a meal for the athletes provided by Scottsville Baptist Church and recognition of former Lady Patriot runner and current Campbellsville track team member Savannah Gregory. The rain date will be Friday, April 28.
