Two SkillsUSA Students State Winners

  A pair of Allen County-Scottsville High School students placed first last week in competition at the Kentucky State SkillsUSA competition in Louisville. In addition, two students collected second place honors.

  Sophomore Nathan Hogue earned first place honors in the Architectural Board Drafting competition. Sophomore Erin Sipes placed first in Technical Board Drafting. The categories are state-only competitions hence Hogue and Sipes will not advance to nationals.

  Junior Maggie Adams was second in two categories---Architectural Computer-Aided Drafting and Customer Service. Junior Sabrina Martin was second in Architectural Board Drafting.

  The SkillsUSA students were among seven students representing the high school and the Allen County Career and Technical Center at the state SkillsUSA competitions. Additional students participating were Jacob Herald, Timmy Saylors, and Madison Spradlin. The group was accompanied to Louisville by SkillsUSA advisors Dolorse Rice and Todd Stamps.
