Lady Patriots Rip Monroe

Lady Patriots Rip Monroe

Allen County-Scottsville pounded 11 hits in a 16-1 win Tuesday against the Monroe County Lady Falcons. The win lifted the Lady Patriots to a 10-7 record, the 22nd consecutive year that Patriot fastpitch has won 10 or more games in a season. In addition, the win lifted AC-S to an overall record of 601-234-4 since fast pitch was introduced in 1995---the sixth most wins by any program in the state according to Kentucky High School Athletic Association records.

Senior Ryley Whitney recorded four RBI’s and senior RaeAnn Stafford ripped three hits to lead the AC-S offensive attack. Junior Kris-Anne Pardue threw 45 pitches in the four-inning game, allowed five hits, and struck out three in earning her seventh pitching win of the season.

AC-S took advantage of a Monroe County error and two walks to load the bases in the home-half of the first. Singles by Kali Mutter and Stafford and a second Lady Falcon error enabled AC-S to build a 4-0 lead. In the second, singles off the bat of Jordan Anderson and Kalee Skaggs, a double by Whitney, and singles from Mutter and Stafford pushed an additional four runs across the plate.

The Lady Patriots added a pair of runs in the third, aided by a pair of back-to-back doubles by Skaggs and Taylor Stamps. AC-S closed out the game with six runs in the bottom of the fourth. Four walks, singles by Stafford and Pardue, and an error by the Lady Falcons enabled the Lady Patriots to reach the 15-run ahead mark and close out the game.
