The Allen County-Scottsville High School Patriot band will give their audience a taste of adventure during their contest show presentation, slated to debut on Saturday, September 7 at the South Central Marching Band Classic at Glasgow High School.
“This year’s show draws inspiration from epic treasure hunter movies like Indiana Jones, Lara Croft Tomb Raider, and The Mummy, “ explained J. Shawn Huff, Director of Bands for the Allen County School District. “The Patriot Band will take viewers on an action packed adventure into an exotic land where they discover and try to protect an ancient treasure from villainous thieves.”
The 2019 marching Patriots will be under the
field command of drum major Sno Browning and assistant drum major Lucy Britt.
Seniors include Browning, Emma Carver, Katie Davis, Emily Guedea, Abigail Huff,
Jayleigh Minix, Bailey Perdue, and Abby Willoughby. Support staff include Assistant
Director Chelly Stamps and Assistant Director and Visual Designer Gina Huff.
The Patriot band will step off the festival
season September 7 in competition against bands from 10 Kentucky schools. The
field includes Class A schools Monroe County, Metcalfe County, and Cumberland
County as well as Class 2A schools Hart County, Russellville, and Bardstown. The
Class 3A line-up includes AC-S and Breckinridge County. Barren County from Class
4A and 5A bands representing Eastern and Henderson County complete the field.
