ACIC and Bazzell Students in Top 10 at National Beta Convention

Students from the Junior Beta chapters at the Allen County Intermediate Center and the James E. Bazzell Middle School earned Top 10 honors last weekend at the National Junior Beta Convention in Oklahoma City.

Representing the Intermediate Center, Nila Nichols placed seventh in Elementary Fiber Arts and Cole Jackson was sixth in Junior Creative Writing (based on his response to the topic question What Would You Do If You Woke Up in Another Country?).

From the Bazzell Middle School, the Book Battle team of Aidan Davis, Embry Pierce, and Tristan Fields were 10th, marking the second consecutive year the trio placed in the top-10 at Nationals. The portfolio---presented by Sarah Beth Wright---earned sixth place honors. The school’s Junior Beta Engineering team finished ninth at the Nationals. The team includes Tucker Scott, Trace Pennick, Mattea Cromer, Eliza Hawkins, and Karsyn Ashby. Also competing was Aidan Davis in Language Arts and Bayleigh Hopkins presented the Service Learning Showcase.
