For the third time in eight days, the Allen County-Scottsville High School cross country team recorded several strong performances in competition. Thursday in a meet at Barren County, a combined eight runners from the boys and girls teams posted top-15 times.
In the 4K boys run, junior Tad Kolton Taylor and eighth-grader Tyler
Stanger took top honors. Taylor covered the Terry Reed course in a time of
14:51.78 to place first. Stanger was second in the time of 15:34.84. Their
efforts helped carry AC-S to the team championship.
Senior Davi Thompson notched a time of 17:56.09 to place ninth in the
39-runner field. Junior Jeff Haney (18:15.32) was 13th while senior Conner
Davenport (18:26.13) placed 15th in the event. Seventh-graders Alex Stamps
(23:99.75) and Houston Porter (26:11.47) also ran in the event.
Eighth-grade runner Sarah Davis, senior Sally McPherson, and senior Madi
Gregory carried the Lady Patriots. Davis was fourth overall with a time of
19:29.81. McPherson placed 10th in the time of 20:57.72 while Gregory covered
the 4K course in the time of 22:34.72. Seventh-graders Kiana White (25:09.80)
and Morgan Jones (26:37.76) also participated in the 35-runner field.
In the elementary run, sixth graders D.J. Fields and Grant Morgan were third
and fourth in the 3K run. Fields finished in the time of 8:10.33 while Morgan
posted a time of 8:27.63.
The Patriot and Lady Patriot runners are scheduled to return to action
on September 14, participating in the Warren East Twilight Run at the Ephraim
White Park in Bowling Green.
