Enrollment Numbers Rise

   Preliminary attendance numbers for the 2014-15 school year show a 62 student increase in enrollment in the Allen County School District.

   According to Garry DeWitt, the Director of Pupil Personnel for Allen County Schools, preliminary enrollment for the 2014-2015 school year stands at 2,920 students-in-seats as of August 7. In comparison, 2,858 students were enrolled on June 5, the final day of the 2013-14 school year.

   Current student-in-seat numbers at the Allen County Primary Center stand at 943 students compared to 926 students at the end of last year. The current number does not reflect preschool students who will not be in the building until August 18.

   The Allen County Intermediate Center shows an almost identical number of students compared to last year. As of Thursday, 642 students are in the building compared to 639 at the close of last year.

   The numbers at the James E. Bazzell Middle School shows a 42 student decline in enrollment. This year, 452 students are in the building compared to 494 students last June.

   Enrollment is up at Allen County-Scottsville High School. As of Thursday, 883 students are in the building, an increase from the 799 students which finished the 2013-14 school year.

   DeWitt emphasizes that enrollment numbers will fluctuate in the forthcoming days.
