Graduation Activities Scheduled

Graduation activities at Allen County-Scottsville High School are approaching as the 2014-15 school year enters the final five weeks on the school calendar.

The traditional Class Night program is scheduled for Saturday, May 9, starting at 5:30 p.m. at Patriot Gym. The 187-member senior class will walk-out during formal introductions---the opening to an evening of special entertainment from senior class members and remarks from senior class officers.

Each senior student receives four (4) passes to distribute to family members. For family members with passes, doors will open at 4 p.m. Persons with passes may enter at that time through the high school’s rear doors—the doors next to the cafeteria behind the school. Once persons with passes are in the building, the general public may enter through the side and rear doors of the school.

The handicap entrance for the event will be at the office area at the front of the school and will open around 4 that afternoon. Signs will be posted. Senior class sponsors and school staff will assist handicap attendees in finding lower-level floor seating.

Class Night activities will also include the announcement of the winner of three major awards----Outstanding Senior, Citizenship, and Service to School and Community awards. The annual Junior-Senior Prom will follow Class Night activities. The prom will start at 8:30 at the Center for Courageous Kids in Scottsville.

The 2015 Senior Class officers are Seth Sisco-president, Austin Taylor-vice president, Angelina Robertson-secretary, Kristine Gillenwater-treasurer, Coe Campbell-sergeant at arms, Kim Murray-girl reporter, and Quinn Towery-boy reporter. The Class of 2015 selected “Tuesday’s Gone” (by Lynyrd Skynyrd) as their class song, royal blue, black, and sliver as class colors, and the tiger lily as the class flower. The class motto is “We’ll worry about that tomorrow and if there isn’t a tomorrow then there’s nothing to worry about (unknown).
