Bikes Donated to District

Bikes Donated to District

A generous donation of six bicycles will be used later this year as rewards for students at the Allen County Primary Center, Allen County Intermediate Center and the James E. Bazzell Middle School. The bikes were gifts from the Graham, Halfway, and New Roe Masonic Lodges in Allen County.

“Our Deputy Grandmaster Cloyd Bumgardner is an administrator in Somerset,” explained Michael Taylor with New Roe Masonic Lodge. “When he became Deputy Grandmaster, one of his program ideas was for Masonic lodges to consider donating bikes to schools to be used as reward incentivizes. So we in Allen County decided to come together and make these donations. Marshall Hughes also donated helmets that will go with each bike.”

Two bikes were presented to the administrators at the Primary Center, the Intermediate Center, and the Bazzell Middle School. The bikes will be given away later in the school year---as rewards to winning students who excel in attendance or a school’s chosen promotion.
