The
Allen County-Scottsville High School swim team participated in the
weather-shortened Best of the West Meet on Saturday, January 11, at the Bowling
Green High School.
Patriot results posted prior to the meet being suspended due to stormy
weather include several solid finishes by Patriot swimmers. In the 200-yard
freestyle, Tad Kolton Taylor placed fourth with a time of 2:00.70. Taylor was
fifth in the 50-yard free with a time of 24.64. Aaron Shain was ninth in the
100y fly in the time of 1:08.56. Kash Taylor placed 14th in the 100y freestyle
(1:07.68) and had a time of 30.22 in the 50y free. Anthony Carranco posted
times of 30.94 in the 50y free and 1:11.04 in the 100y free. Wessly Butler
posted a time of 30.45 in the 50y free. Butler, Shain, Bradley Wagoner, and
Ryan Wolfe helped lead the team to a sixth place finish in the 200y medley
relay in the time of 2:10.81.
Lady
Patriot results include a sixth place effort by Allison Davis in the 500y free
(6:30.52) and an 11th place in the 200y free (2:27.47). Sarah Davis was eighth
in the 100y free in the time of 1:02.73. Leah Hartman placed 10th in the 100y
fly (1:12.16). Emma Brown was 15th in the 100y fly (1:21.67). Shelby Costello
posted a time of 1:15.16 in the 100y free. Quinn Hartman posted times of
2:59.65 in the 200y free and 33.93 in the 50y free. Ella Rickard had a time of
43.93 in the 50y free and AnnMarie Shirley finished with a time of 38.81 in the
50y free. In relay action, Brown, Allison Davis, Sarah Davis, and Leah Hartman
earned an eighth place finish in the 200y medley with a time of 1:21.67.
The
Patriot and Lady Patriot swim team also participated in a meet at Monroe County
last Thursday and at Glasgow on Monday. However, individual results have not
been released.
