Area 5 Special Olympics Results Announced

      Allen County was well represented Saturday at the annual Area 5 Special Olympics in Bowling Green. The Allen County School District had 35 athletes participating, joined by a host of buddies, coaches and families.

 

   The results for athletes representing the Allen County Primary Center include Christopher Beebe, third place in the 50 Meter Dash and Softball Throw, Zack Cloud, second place in the 50m Dash and softball throw, Jacob Graves, first place in the 50m Dash and second place in the Standing Long Jump, Kameryn Hall, second place in the 50m Dash and a participant in the Softball Throw, Marlie McGree, third place in the 50 Meter Dash and fourth in the Softball Throw, Abigail McGuffey, first in the 50m Dash and Standing Long Jump, Aiden McGuffey, third place in the 25m Independent Walk and Tennis Ball Throw, and Logan Roof, third in the 50m Dash and first in the Softball Throw.

 

   Allen County Intermediate Center results include Kloey Burchett, first place in the 10m Assisted Walk and Tennis Ball Throw, Amy Butrum, fourth in the 50m Walk and first in the Softball Throw, Lucy Celsor, first in the 10m Wheelchair Race and the Softball Throw Wheelchair, Jasmine Cowles, third place in the 50m Walk and second in the Softball Throw, Jerica Gentry, first in the 50m Walk and Shot Put, Piper Kadwell, second place in the 50m Walk and Standing Long Jump, Abby Law, first in the 100m Dash and Softball Throw, Nick Mandrell, second place in the 50m Walk and Softball Throw, Caitlyn Sloan, first place in the 50m Walk and Softball Throw, Jordyn Snodgrass, second place in the 10m Assisted Walk and first place in the Distance Ball Roll Wheelchair, Paul Michael Stilton, fourth in the 50m Dash and second on Softball Throw, Daren Turner, second in the 25m Independent Walk and third in Standing Long Jump, Jacob Waters, third in the 200m Dash and first in the Running Long Jump, and Kevin West, first in the 50m Dash and fourth in Softball Throw.  

 

   James E. Bazzell Middle School results included Hailee Blankenship fourth in the 50m Dash and second in Softball Throw, Brittany Gunter, first in the 100m Dash and Softball Throw, Tre Morris, fourth place in the 50m Dash and first in Softball Throw, Destiny Roach, second in the 50m Dash and third in Softball Throw, and  

Colton Woods, first place in the 50m Dash and Shot Put.  

 

   Results for the Allen County-Scottsville High School athletes include J.J. Frost, second place in the 50m Dash and third in Softball Throw, Mark Anthony Gonzalez, first place in the 25m Independent Walk and third in the Softball Throw, Holly Grizzle, fifth in the 50m Dash and first in Softball Throw, Willie Guess, second place in the 50m Dash and fourth in Softball Throw, Anna Hairston, third place in the 50m Dash and fifth in Softball Throw, Emilie Shelby, fourth in the 50m Dash and first in the Softball Throw, Jacob Strode, third in the 50m Dash and second in the Running Long Jump, and Dawson Wolfe, second place in the 50m Dash and Softball Throw.

                          

   Independent Athlete winners were Jon Collado a fifth place in the 50m Dash and second in the Shot Put, Tiffany Foster, a first place in Object Transfer and second in Distance Ball Roll Wheelchair, Zayne Logsdon second place in the 400m Walk and fourth place in the 100m Dash and Melissa Whitney, fourth in the 50m Dash and second in Softball Throw.  

   During the opening ceremonies, Laura Stinson Rector received the Doreen Birk 2018 Coach of the Year Award, Leann Brown Thomas received the 2018 Clark R. Verner Volunteer of the Year Award, and the Scottsville Police Department was recognized as the Family of the Year.
