Golfers Complete First Weekend of Matches

 The start of the 2018 season for the Patriot golf team included a pair of fifth place finishes in tournament play in eastern Kentucky.

  Friday, the AC-S golf tandem of Brett Rippy, Tate Stinson, Bryson Bonds, Tanner McPeak, and Owen Stamper placed fifth in tournament action at the South Laurel Invitational at the London Country Club. The team combined for a team round of 324. Saturday, the team carded a combined score of 357 on the difficult Crooked Creek course in London. AC-S still managed to place fifth in the 17-team field at the Clay county invitational.

  Stamper owned the day in individual play of Friday. The junior carded a round of 69 on the 18 holes to bring home individual honors. Stinson recorded a round of 83. Rippy notched an 84 with Bonds firing a round of 88 and McPeak posting a 92.

  Much tougher conditions Saturday saw AC-S’s scores rise. Stinson was low point man for the Patriots as the senior fired an 87. Bonds carded an 89, followed by Stamper (90), Rippy (91), and McPeak (96). 

   The Patriots will be in action Thursday at the South Warren Invitational at Crosswinds in Bowling Green. Saturday, the team travels to the Battle of the Bride at the Old Bridge Course in Danville. Tuesday, AC-S’s golfers will take part in the Monroe County Invitational in Tompkinsville. 


 The Lady Patriots opened play last week at the Taylor County Invitational. Alyson Miller led AC-S carding a 92 with Hannah Beltz shooting a 108. AC-S returns to the course Monday in the Glasgow Invitational at the Glasgow Country Club. Tuesday, AC-S travels to Tompkinsville for the Monroe County Invitational tournament
