Allen County-Scottsville and Monroe County will play in the first round of the District 15 girls and boys basketball tournament at Barren County High School later this month.
The fourth-seed Lady Patriots (14-14, 1-5) ---their seed determined by draw at the District 15 tournament meeting Wednesday night---will play one-seed Monroe County (26-2, 6-0) at 6 p.m. on Monday, February 20. Second-seed Glasgow (24-3, 4-2) will play third-seed Barren County (18-11, 1-5) in the nightcap, 25 minutes following the first game Monday night.
The girls’ championship game will be played on Thursday, February 23 at 7 p.m. at Barren County. The district champion and runner-up will advance to the Region 4 tournament slated to begin on Sunday, February 26 at Western Kentucky University.
The third-seed Patriots (10-17, 3-3) ---their third seed position determined by draw----will face second-seed Monroe County (14-12, 3-3) on Tuesday, February 21. The game will be the second of the evening. One-seed Barren County (15-14, 6-0) will play four-seed Glasgow (4-22, 0-6) at 6 p.m. followed by the AC-S/Monroe County match-up.
The boys’ championship game will be played Friday, February 24 at 7 p.m. at Barren County. The district champion and runner-up will advance to the Region 4 tournament slated to begin on Tuesday, February 28 at Western Kentucky University.
Admission to the District 15 tournament will be $5 per person.
