Shane Davis Steps into New Role

A veteran educator will embark on a new role for the Allen County-School District on July 1. Shane Davis, principal at the Allen County-Scottsville High School for the past four years, will serve as the new Director of Safety and Support Services for Allen County Schools.

“Mr. Davis will have a variety of roles in this position,” noted Randall Jackson, superintendent for Allen County Schools. “Mr. Davis will work with our principals and Mr. (Brian) Carter on school safety. He’ll work with Family and Youth Services, work with our Title programs, work with our new maintenance director, the Director of Pupil Personal, and the Allen County Learning Center among other things.”

Davis leaves the high school after almost two decades of teaching and administration.

“I have very fond memories of my 18 years at the high school,” Davis said. “Being a graduate of Allen County-Scottsville High School is one of my proudest moments and being able to come back and serve at this high school is another of my proudest moments. I think the world of this place.”

Davis notes that his new position will be one that will include a wide variety of day-to-day involvement across the District.

“There are safety aspects that I will be working with Mr. Carter on and in the support role, my job is to assist in everyone in the district in helping them with their needs,” Davis explained.

Davis graduated from AC-SH in 1991 and Campbellsville University in 1997. Davis began his career as an instructional assistant at the former Allen Academy (now Allen County Learning Center) before serving as a teacher for a year at the school. Davis then moved to the high school, serving as a Social Studies teacher for eight years. After obtaining his certification in Educational Leadership, Davis was selected as an assistant principal at the high school in the summer of 2009. Davis began his time as principal in June of 2013.
