Allen County-Scottsville sophomore runner Tad
Koltin Taylor took first place and Lady Patriot seventh grader Sarah Davis was
third in their respective divisions Thursday afternoon (August 30) at the
Barren County 3K Cross Country Invitational in Glasgow.
Taylor covered the Terry Reed Course in a
time of 10:10.30 to post a 17-second win over Keifer Long from Cumberland
County. Patriot seventh grader James Tyler Stanger placed 14th in the event with
a time of 11:25.28. Junior Wyatt Thompson was 20th in the 53-runner field in a
time of 11:48.08.
Additional Patriot runners and their times
were junior Conner Davenport (12:09.12), seventh-grader Seth Lutterman
(15:17.11), and seventh-grader Alex Ladd (16:25.52). Overall, the Patriots were
fourth among the five participating schools.
In the high school girl’s division, Sarah
Davis finished in the time of 13:01.00. Allison Davis was ninth in the
47-runner field in the time of 13:32.15. Sophomore Gabrielle Tangen posted a
time of 13:50.95 to finish 13th overall with junior Sally McPherson placing
16th in a time of 14:18.12.
Seventh grade runners Lydia Goosetree
(16:04.86) and Taylor Temple (19:30.16) also participated in the varsity run. The
runners helped the Lady Patriots to a third-place team finish.
In the mixed 1500-meter elementary run, sixth-graders
Alex Stamps (7:44.91) and Peyton West (7:57.85) represented the Allen County
Intermediate Center.
The high school cross country team is
scheduled to run Saturday, September 1, at the Wildcat Wilderness Run at
Franklin-Simpson High School in Franklin.
