The Allen County-Scottsville High School hosted the first Signing
Day on Monday, May 21. The event allowed seniors the opportunity to formally
announce their intention to pursue college, a career, or enlist in the
military. “Traditionally, a signing day is held to signify that a student athlete intends to play a sport for a particular institution; however, we wanted to honor all of our graduates and recognize all of the plans they’ve made for their future,” noted Myra Little in her opening remarks. “That’s why today, of those who wished to participate, you’ll see students pledging their intent for college, a particular business or career, or for a branch of the United States military.”
Little explained that each student would
actually be signing a certificate as part of the program.
