Mark the calendar and make your plans to attend the Allen County Primary Center (ACPC) Fall Festival on Saturday, September 28, from 4 until 7 p.m. at the school. The event---sponsored by the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) at the Primary Center---will have multiple activities for youngsters.

“We will have over 20 games that include pumpkin painting, ring toss on soft drinks, face painting, Oreo-stacking, and a pet adoption (stuffed animals),” explained school PTO president Elizabeth Oakley. “We also will have three bounce houses for the kids to enjoy.”

The games and activities will require tickets that will can be purchased at ticket booths on site.

“Tickets will be for sale for 50 cents each at the ticket booths,” Oakley added. “Most games are four tickets or under.”

The Fall Festival provides an afternoon and evening of family fun for the students in attendance. In addition, the event raises money to help support the educational needs of educators as well as cover special situations that may arise during the school year.

“PTO is raising money for our music curriculum and to help support our teachers financially with items that are not covered under the state money balloon,” Oakley noted. “We also support our students/parents when tragedy happens like it has this year. We want to give them a little help when they need it also.”

Oakley encourages parents/guardians to not only attend the Fall Festival and other PTO activities throughout the year---such as the annual Breakfast with Santa---but also to become involved in the organization.

“Your child is at school with their teachers more than at home, so we want them (teachers) to be appreciated,” Oakley said. “We held a membership drive this year and it went okay but we still want more involvement. When you join/help PTO you can be in the middle of all the planning of what we do for your child's school.”

Oakley adds that the community can also be involved in the Fall Festival.

“Anyone can get involved and it’s never too late,” Oakley explained. “We are looking for $25 sponsors to sponsor our fall festival games. This will get you advertising at the event and on our take home info in exchange. This helps us pay for items for that particular game.”

Anyone wishing to sponsor an activity can contact Oakley through the Primary Center office.

Parents and community are also invited to join the Allen County Primary Center’s PTO Facebook page (listed on Facebook as ACPC PTO) to stay updated on upcoming events, membership meetings, and activities. Parents and guardians are also reminded that the PTO is currently coordinating the school’s fundraising project---a project that kicked off this week at the school.
