The Allen County-Scottsville Patriot Band finished eighth in the field
of 16 bands Saturday at the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) Marching
Band Championships Class 3A semifinals at Nelson County High School in
Bardstown.
AC-S earned a score of 76.45 in Saturday’s competition. The overall
results showed Bourbon County with a score of 86.05, followed by Russell County
(85.95), Harrison County (82.70), Calloway County (80.55), Taylor County
(80.30), John Hardin (79.70), Boyle County (79.35) and AC-S.
The Patriot band will have one more competition. Saturday, AC-S will
travel to Kings High School in Kings Mill, Ohio to take part in the Mid-States
Band Association (MSBA) Class 3A Championships. The Patriots will be among 21
schools in the event which features a preliminary round and a finals’ round.
Additional Kentucky schools in the MSBA championships include John Hardin,
Pleasure Ridge Park, Ballard, Bullitt East, Harrison County, and Woodford
County.
AC-S is slated to perform at 2:45 p.m. (CDT). Preliminary awards will be announced at 3:45
with the top-10 bands advancing to the finals portion of the program that
evening. The finals round starts at 5:45 Saturday evening with the final awards
presentation at 8:30.
