Allen County-Scottsville senior quarterback
Chase Wilson has been named the Class 4A, Region One, District Two Player of
the Year as chosen by the Kentucky Football Coaches Association.
Wilson’s selection caps off a sensational
senior season. Wilson completed 156 of 277 passes for a single season school
record 2,658 yards and school-record 32 touchdowns. Wilson averaged 241.6 yards
per game. His season high was a 373 yard effort in the Patriots’ 39-35 win over
Class 2A state semifinalist Glasgow. Wilson also threw for 372 yards in AC-S’s
36-20 loss to Pulaski County. Wilson finished the regular season as the Class
4A passing leader in average yards per game and was sixth overall in the state in
passing yards per game.
Wilson will graduate AC-S as the school’s
all-time leader in passing yards (5,750), touchdowns (58), total completed
passes (365), and total attempted passes (671). Wilson holds the single game
records for yards (373), completed passes (23), and touchdowns thrown (6). The
senior played in 32 games in four seasons and will complete his high school
career with a career passing average of 179.7 yards per game. Wilson threw for
150 or more yards in 16 of his last 18 games as a Patriot.
This weekend, Wilson will receive his
District POY award during halftime ceremonies at the Russell Athletic/Kentucky
High School Athletic Association Gridiron Bowl Class 4A State Championship. The
Class 4A championship will pit Franklin-Simpson against Johnson Central at 3:30
(CST) Saturday, December 2 at Kroger Field in Lexington.
