Taylor Leads Way for Cross Country

   Allen County-Scottsville’s boys and girls cross country teams participated in the Barren County Invitational Thursday afternoon in Glasgow. Six Patriot and two Lady Patriots competed in the 5K event---the final tune up for AC-S prior to the regional cross country meet on October 28.

   AC-S freshman Tad Taylor covered the Terry Reed course in a time of 19:08.49---fourth among the 58-runner field. Hart County’s Max Brelig took top honors with a time of 17:31.10 followed by Barren County runners Brandon Reed (18:06.54) and Ross Jessie (18:53.52).

   Patriot sophomore Davie Thompson finished the run in a time of 20:35.44 to place 13th overall. Senior Frankie Estes posted a time of 20:44.36 to finish in 17th. Additional AC-S runners and their times include eighth-grader Jacob Carter (22:54.19), sophomore Conner Davenport (23:44.65), and freshman Matthew Brown (24:37.90).

   For the Lady Patriots, senior Maggie Adams covered the course in 25:14.28 to place 13th in the 29-runner field. Freshman Gabrielle Tangen posted a time of 28:08.73.

   The AC-S runners return to action at the Class 2A, Region 2 meet on Saturday, October 28, at Green County. The girls will run at 2:15. The boys will follow at 3 p.m. CDT.
