Around the County Fairs Underway

The Allen County Primary Center is stepping off-campus to sponsor four Around the County Fair events. Each event will be filled with multiple fun activities designed to entertain families and students.

Each of the two-hour community fair-like events will include free activities such as face painting, cupcake walk, a candy prize wheel, a football toss, a photo booth where you can use a phone to take a selfie), a best guess game, and a goldfish toss. Students can also play a musical instrument, see a cool science experiment, or adopt a stuffed animal. The Primary Center Parent-Teacher Organization will be serving a meal (a hot dog, chips, a drink, and a cookie) at a cost of $3 for students and $5 for adults.

The remaining fairs will be held at a city location as well as two sites in the county. The next county fair event will be Thursday, October 12 at the Allen County-Scottsville Recreation Center at 311 North Third Street.

The third county fair event will be held on Tuesday, October 17 at the Adolphus Fire Department, located at 25 Andrew Jackson Highway in the southern part of the county. The final county fair will be held on Thursday, October 19 in the northern area of Allen County at the Cedar Springs Volunteer Fire Department and Community Center. Cedar Springs Fire Department is located at 51 Cedar Springs Road just off the Barren River Dam Road.

Each county fair event will start at 4:30 p.m. and last until 6:30. Parents are asked to choose a location and come out for a fun-filled evening of activities for children. Persons with questions about the events can contact the Allen County Primary Center at 270-618-7200.
