Library Offers Summer Activities for Children and Teens

   The Allen County Public Library has multiple educational, enlightening, and enrichment activities for children and teenagers during the 2016 summer break from school.

   Children of all ages are invited and encouraged to participate in the annual Summer Reading Program sponsored by the library. Parents can bring in their child (children) and register for the program between now and July 2. At registration, the child will receive a Summer Reading bag with all of the program’s information. Children who turn in reading logs by July 19 will be eligible to win a prize.

   The Allen County Public Library also offers a series of children and teen programs beginning July 5. Programs for ages 12 and under include:

  • July 5 1:00 p.m. Reading Magic with Bruce Amato
  • July 7 1:00 p.m. Science Olympics with Jason Lindsey
  • July 12 1:00 p.m. Runaway Puppet Theater with Ed May
  • July 14 1:00 p.m. Water Safety with Bobber the Water Dog.
  • July 19 All Day Olympian Crafts with Amanda McReynolds
  • July 21 1:00 p.m. Nature’s Olympics with Animal Tales

Teen Programs during the month of July include:

  • July 6 1:00 p.m. Geocaching
  • July 13 1:00 p.m. Minute to Win It
  • July 20 1:00 p.m. Life-Size Games
