Cross Country Season Underway

   The Allen County-Scottsville High School track teams started the season last Saturday with a solid showing at the Gatorland Run at Phil Moore Park in Bowling Green. Four AC-S runners placed in the top 17 among girls and boys combined. 

 

   For the Lady Patriots, freshman Allison Davis placed ninth overall for the 5K, posting a time of 22:33.20. Freshman Sarah Davis placed 17th in the 57-runner field with a time of 23:33.70. Sophomore Taylor Gregory had a time of 28:40.6 with seventh-grader Kaytee Shelton come across the line in the time of 29.21.00.

 

  In the boys’ run, ACS placed sixth among nine teams in the Green Division of the event. Senior Tad Koltin Taylor was seventh in a time of 18:23.30 with freshman Tyler Stranger placing ninth with a time of 18:39.50. The division included 73 runners. 

 

   Addition runners and their times included Jeff Haney (22:22.80), Darios Frields (22:24.90), Kash Taylor (22:25.00.), Alex Stamps (24.04.60), and Grant Morgan (24:42.30).

 

    AC-S is slated to run twice this week. Thursday, the squad will take part in the Barren County All-Comers at the Terry Reed course at Barren County High School. Saturday morning, the runners will compete in the Warren East Twilight Run at Ephram White Park in Bowling Green.
