Tee Times Announced for Region 3 Boys Golf Tournament

   Allen County-Scottsville Patriot golfers will tee off Monday morning September 28 in the Region 3 Golf Tournament at the 6,561-yard, par-72 Crosswinds Golf Course in Bowling Green. AC-S golfers start their 18-hole round at 9:15 from the first hole tee box with the Patriot players part of a foursome with players from Monroe County, Glasgow, and South Warren. 

 

   First to tee off at 9:15 will be seventh-grader Barton Rutledge. Starting play at 9:30 with be junior J.C. Sikes. Eighth-grader Eli Stamper tees at 9:45. Senior Tyler Ford begins play at 10 a.m. followed by senior Peyton Cline opening his day at 10:15. 

 

   The Region 3 tournament features 85 players representing 18 schools. Schools include AC-S, Barren County, Bowling Green, Clinton County, Cumberland County, Edmonson County, Franklin-Simpson, Glasgow, Greenwood, Hart County, Logan County, Metcalfe County, Monroe County, Russellville, South Warren, Todd County, Warren Central, and Warren East. 

 

   This year’s regional event at Crosswinds will have COVID-19 related guidance for parents, spectators, and teams. Each player is limited to two spectators meaning that foursomes should only have eight people walking with them around the course. No spectator carts will be available. Spectators cannot congregate around the patio area at the course. Players must social distance as much as possible and wear masks in the patio area. Once a team finishes the day, they will be asked to leave unless a player/team is in contention for top honors in the tournament. 

 

   No live scoreboards will be used, and all scoring will be online. Spectators unable to attend can follow online at https://www.bluegolf.com/junior/events/bluegrass2080/index.html

 

    The winning team and the top seven individuals with the lowest score that are not on the winning team, will qualify for the Leachman Buick•GMC•Cadillac/KHSAA Boys’ State Golf Tournament on Oct. 5-7 currently scheduled to be played at the Bowling Green Country Club.
