Allen County-Scottsville sophomore Rafe
Blankenship led the Patriot golf team with an even-par round of 72 Monday in
the Greenwood Gator Invitational at the Bowling Green Country Club.
Blankenship played a fairy consistent round on
the course. On the front nine, Blankenship was one-under par before back-to-back
bogeys on the sixth and seventh holes. The sophomore would par each hole the
rest of the round except for a birdie on the par-five 15th. At the end of the day,
Blankenship tied for seventh in the event featuring 113 golfers from schools
across the state.
AC-S’s Tyler Ford shot an 80 on the day. Peyton Cline carded an 85 while Eli Stamper notched a 90. Joshua Sikes fired a 100.
The Patriots placed 11th as a team after a
score of 327. Marshall County placed first with a 233.
AC-S will be back in competition Tuesday at
Crosswinds Gold Course in Bowling Green.
