Cosby Selected as Transportation and Human Resources Director

Cosby 2

Mr. Joseph Cosby has been selected as the Human Resource and Transportation Director for Allen County Schools.

Mr. Cosby has been in education for more than 18 years all in Allen County Schools. Mr. Cosby has been serving as the principal at Allen County-Scottsville High School (ACSHS) for the last three years. Prior to his current position, he has served the district as Director of Allen County Career and Technical Center and as an automotive instructor.

“Mr. Cosby has done a great job serving Allen County Schools throughout his career, '' said Superintendent, Travis Hamby. “He has demonstrated strong leadership in his role as principal at ACSHS and is deeply committed to the success of our district. Mr. Cosby has a working knowledge of school transportation, having annually completed the Driver Trainer Certification, and possesses a background in diesel mechanics. I am excited to have Mr. Cosby in this new role and look forward to working with him to create a strong human resources division to better serve our employees.”

“I have enjoyed my tenure here as a teacher and as an administrator and appreciate having had the opportunity to have a positive impact on student’s lives, but it is time for a new chapter in my life,” said Cosby. “I have been given the opportunity for a new challenge as the Director of Human Resources and Transportation at the Central Office. In this new role, I must be willing to adapt to meet the needs of the district. I know there will be a steady flow of demands from the District’s stakeholders. These needs will require a certain amount of finesse, patience and flexibility to maintain positive and supportive relationships while maintaining a handle on adherence to our District’s and State’s policies, procedures and regulations. Considering the precious cargo that rides school buses every day, the safety of students will be a main priority, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic creating a whole new set of challenges for the Director of Transportation.”

Mr. Cosby will begin his duties as Human Resource and Transportation Director once a replacement has been selected for ACSHS. Mr. Cosby will be replacing Transportation Director, Mr. Roger Weaver, who is retiring at the end of July.
