Together For Christmas Registration Announced

In what has become an annual endeavor to make the holiday season brighter for many Allen County youngsters, the Allen County Family Resource/Youth Service Centers will again partner with the Allen County Scottsville Fraternal Order of Police to continue to sponsor Together for Christmas.

With the COVID-19 pandemic ongoing, the 2021 Together for Christmas program will look similar to last year. Program officials stress that registration in October is required in order to receive items in December.

Parents/guardians who need assistance with their child’s Christmas, must register during the week of (Monday), October 11 through (Friday) October 15. Registration will take place at the Dugas Community Park (336 N. Bedelia Street) in Scottsville.

Registrations will be accepted from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday (October 11-14) or from 7 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Friday (October 15). No registration will be held on Saturday and no late registrations will be accepted.

Parents/guardians registering must bring the following items:

  • Your children’s birth certificate or social security card.
  • Proof of residency in Allen County.
  • Your driver’s license.
  • Proof of income, including disability, food stamps, child support, and wages. (This may be provided in the form of pay stubs, tax papers, or bank statements).

Persons may obtain verification of assistance that you receive by contacting the Family Support Office during the week of registration.

All children, ages 0 to 18  whose parents/guardians meet the income qualifications, are eligible to participate. However, 18-year-olds must still be enrolled in the Allen County school system.

Registration in October is required to receive gifts in December. Due to Covid 19 restrictions, officials with Together for Christmas will not be able to accommodate anyone who does not register during the designated week (October 11-15).

Parents/guardians with any questions, should contact the Family Resource or Youth Service Center at your child’s school or the Scottsville Police Department. Information on the date, times, and location for the distribution of gifts will be released at a later date.
