Allen County Community Education will be offering several painting classes
and a drawing class scheduled to start in early January. An Introduction to Acrylic
Painting Class and an Advanced Acrylic Painting class as well as a Pastel
Painting class and a Basic Drawing class are planned for anyone seeking to
learn or enhance their creative nature.
The first of three sessions of Acrylic painting classes will start on
Thursday, January 4. This class will meet from 9 a.m. until noon on January 4,
January 11, January 18, and January 25. The cost of session one is $40 per
student. Classes will be held at the Allen County Extension Office under the
instruction of artist Lori Short. Eight students are required for the class to
be offered. The registration deadline is 3 p.m. on Friday, December 29.
A Pastel Painting-Session, class will also begin on Thursday, January 4.
This class will meet from 1 until 4 p.m. on the days of January 4, 11, 18, and
25. The class fee is $50 per student. Classes will also meet at the Allen
County Extension Office. Seven students must register for the class to be
offered. The registration deadline is at 3 p.m. on Friday, December 29. Short
will also serve as instructor.
The Intro to Acrylic Painting class, under the leadership of Short, will
start on Monday, January 8. The two-hour class will be held from 9:00 until
11:00 a.m. on January 8, January 15, January 22, January 29, February 5 and
February 12. The fee for the class will be $40 per student. A minimum of eight
students registered for the class is required with the class limited to 10
participants. The class will be held at the Allen County Extension office. The
registration deadline is at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2.
A Basic Drawing class will start on Monday, January 8 and be held from 1
until 3 p.m. under the teaching of Short. This six-week class session will me
on January 8, 15, 22, 29, February 5, and February 12. The fee for the class is
$40. A minimum of eight students is required for the class to be offered. The
registration deadline is at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2.
