The
Allen County-Scottsville High School swim team recorded a seventh-place finish
(combined) at the Best of the West meet Saturday at Bowling Green High School.
AC-S girl and boy swimmers earned 175 points on the day. The meet featured 12
teams.
Individual results included several strong
efforts by the Patriot swimmers. Tad Koltin Taylor placed third in the 200-yard
freestyle in a time of 2:04.36. Taylor was seventh in the 100y backstroke with
a time of 1:10.65. Aaron Shain was 10th in the 200y individual medley (IM) in a
time of 2:59.32 and 13th in the freestyle (1:11.50). Zack Ainsley was 14th in
the 100y backstroke in the time of 1:43.14 and 33rd in the 50y free with a time
of 37.45. Bradley Wagoner placed 17th in the 2100y free with a time of 1:12.86.
In the 100y breaststroke, Caden McCrary was 15th with a time of 2:05.62.
In relay events, Taylor, Shain, Wagoner, and
McCrary posted a time of 5:25.83 to finish fifth in the 400y free relay. The same
swimmers were eighth in the 200y free relay with a time of 2:22.55.
For the girls, Sarah Hartman recorded a
sixth place in the 100y backstroke, posting a time of 1:15.43, and was eighth
in the 100y butterfly (1:23.12). Leah Hartman finished seventh in the 100y
breaststroke (1:25.41) and 10th in the 200y IM. In the 50y free, Rachel Meador
was 10th with a time of 30.20. In the 100y free, Meador placed 14th in the time
of 1:12.05. Hayden Petty also completed in the 50 and 100y freestyles (times
unavailable).
In relay events, the Lady Patriot foursome
of Hartman, Hartman, Meador, and Petty were fifth in the 200y free (2:10.55).
AC-S swimmers are scheduled to return to the
water next week at Russell County.
