The Allen County-Scottsville Patriot band launches their 2025 competition season Saturday, September 6, in Franklin. The Patriot band will compete against 11 bands at the Franklin-Simpson Marching Contest at Franklin-Simpson High School.
The afternoon and evening contest starts with the National Anthem at 4:45. Class A bands Ballard Memorial, Cumberland County, and Metcalfe County perform at 5:00, 5:15, and 5:30. Class 2A bands Monroe County and Russellville follow.
AC-SH, a 3-A band by Kentucky Music Educators Association designation, takes the turf at 6:15 followed by 3-A Murray. The 4-A bands of Muhlenberg County, Barren County, and Logan County follow at 7:00, 7:15, and 7:30. South Warren and McCracken County, both in Class 5A, will close out the evening’s competition performances. Franklin-Simpson will march in exhibition at 8:15 with awards presented at 8:30.
Franklin-Simpson’s contest is the first of six regular season events for the AC-S band. On September 13, the band attends the LaRue County Lincoln Invitational. The following Saturday (September 20) finds AC-S at the Logan County Marching Contest. On September 27, the Patriot band participates in two contests---the Warren East Marching Invitational and the Warren Central Dragon Classic. AC-S will attend the Grayson County Marching Contest on October 4 to finish the regular season.
October 18 has AC-S competing in the KMEA 3A Regional quarterfinals at Franklin-Simpson. If the Patriot band places among the top six bands, AC-S moves forward to the 3A semifinals at Warren Central on October 25. The top six bands in the semifinals advance to the KMEA state finals later that day at Western Kentucky University.
