The 68-member strong Allen County-Scottsville High School band qualified to advance to the Kentucky Music Educators Association (KMEA) Class 3A state semifinals following a fifth-place performance last Saturday.
Saturday at Franklin-Simpson, AC-S received a score of 75.800 to earn fifth place. Taylor County placed first with a score of 81.550 followed by Murray, LaRue County, and Warren East. The finish takes the Patriots to the semifinals.
AC-S will take the field at 11:30 Saturday at Warren East. The Patriots will march in competition against 11 schools---North Oldham, Elizabethtown, Adair County, Highlands, Murray, Russell County, Taylor County, Garrard County, Warren East, Boyle County, and LaRue County. The top six bands from Saturday semifinals advance to the state finals Saturday night at Western Kentucky University.
