  Archers from the Allen County-Scottsville High School took part in the NASP® (National Archery in Schools Program) state tournament last Friday and Saturday at the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center in Louisville.

   For AC-S, senior JoyDale Williams led the way for her team with a score of 268. Williams recorded seven 10s to help her place 127th in a field of 377 seniors and 642nd in the 3,996-shooter field. One point behind Williams was freshman Marissa Meador who shot a personal best 267. Meador---who recorded 10 tens----was 126th among 428 freshmen taking part in the competition. Sophomore Madeline Childers shot a 263 followed by sophomore Gabby Joyce who scored her personal best with a 262.

   The high school archers will compete Saturday, March 21, at the Kentucky High School Athletic Association Region 2 meet in Greeneville.
