The Allen County-Scottsville Lady Patriot volleyball program has been recognized with the 2026 American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award. AC-S is one of only 13 Kentucky girls’ volleyball teams receiving the national academic honor.

Across the country, 1,432 collegiate and high school volleyball programs earned the award by maintaining a year-long grade-point average of at least 3.3 on a 4.0 scale or 4.1 on a 5.0 scale.

The award recognizes the dedication of coaches and student-athletes who make academic achievement an important part of their volleyball programs.

“It comes as no surprise to see our sport have more than 1,400 teams earn the AVCA Team Academic Award again this season,” AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon said in a press release. Gordon also praised the coaches and players who value success both in the classroom and on the court.

Programs that have received the honor for at least 10 years were also highlighted for their continued commitment to academics. Jonesboro High School in Arkansas and Ross S. Sterling High School in Texas led all programs by receiving the award for the 34th consecutive season.

The recognition places Allen County-Scottsville among a select group of volleyball programs demonstrating excellence in competition and in the classroom.
