The Allen County-Scottsville High School boys golf team put on a strong showing at the Region 3 Tournament at Indian Hills Country Club on September 21. Led by top-10 individual finishes from Kaden Stinson and Simon Stamper, AC-S again showed their prominence as one of the region’s best teams. .
Playing on a challenging par-71 layout, the Patriots navigated tough conditions and delivered notable highlights across the entire roster.
Class of 2027 golfer Kaden Stinson turned in the Patriots' lowest score of the day, carding a 5-over-par 76 to finish tied for 6th place. Stinson was steady throughout his round, rolling in three birdies and eight pars. He posted a front-nine 38 before closing out his day with a 38 on the back nine, playing the course’s par-3 holes at 1-under par.
Close on his heels was Simon Stamper (Class of 2030), who tied for 9th place with a 6-over-par 77. Stamper showcased remarkable consistency on the back nine, shooting an even-par 36—including a birdie on the par-4 10th hole—to surge up the leaderboard. Stamper finished his round with 12 pars and played all par-4s on the day at even par.
With their top-10 finishes, both Stinson and Stamper qualified as individual competitors for the opening round of the 2026 Leachman Buick GMC Cadillac KHSAA State Golf Tournament. They will travel to Bardstown next week to compete at Bardstown Country Club (Maywood). This will be their first-time playing in the KHSAA state championship event. Stinson and Stamper join Barton Rutledge, Eli Stamper, Rafe Blankenship, and Owen Stamper as Patriots who have played in recent state tournaments.
Lane Temple (Class of 2029) put together a balanced performance to finish tied for 19th, shooting an 8-over-par 79. Temple recorded 11 pars during his round, carding a 39 on the front nine and a 40 on the back. He was particularly effective on the long holes, playing the course's par 5s at even par.
Eli Cope (Class of 2031) finished tied for 56th with a score of 90 (+19). Cope---playing in his first regional tournament---managed a solid baseline performance across his round, featuring five pars and seven bogeys.
Rounding out the scoring for the Patriots was first-time regional participant Roman Tabor (Class of 2028), who shot a 94 (+23) to finish tied for 65th place. Tabor recorded 4 pars on the day, shooting a 46 on the front nine and a 48 on the back.
The Patriots’ fourth-place team finish marks a fourth consecutive year that AC-S golf has been fourth or better in the Region 3 tournament.

Facing a deep field of high school golfers, the young Patriot showed poise early, delivering a sharp front nine to set the tone for his round. Stamper made the turn at just 1-over par (37), highlighted by a birdie on the par-4 sixth hole and seven steady pars.
The back nine proved more demanding across the par-72 course layout, where Stamper recorded a 43 (+7) to complete his 18-hole score of 80. Despite a few late bumps, Stamper tied for 20th place alongside competitors from across the state.
Glasgow’s Griffin Jackson won the individual crown with a 5-under 67, followed by runner-up Lemuel Wright of Breckinridge County (70, -2).
