The Allen County-Scottsville
swim team participated in a tri-meet Tuesday night, December 10, at Russell
County. Lady Patriot and Patriot swimmers joined student-athletes from Russell County
and Marion County for the meet.
For the Lady Patriots, Allison
Davis was first in the 500y freestyle with a time of 4:36.92 and second in the
200y Individual Medley (IM) with a time of 2:44.96. Sarah Davis was first in the
100y breaststroke after a time of 1:18.71 and second in the 100 free in the time
of 1:03.22. Emma Brown placed second in two events, the 100-yard butterfly
(1:23.69) and the 100y backstroke (1:19.62). Shelby Costello was third in the 50y
free (34.20) and fourth in the 100y backstroke (1:31.95). Leah Hartman was
third in the 100y free (1:04.89) and second in the 100y breaststroke (1:20.49).
Quinn Hartman was second in the 200y free (2:57.44) and sixth in the 100y free
(1:21.05). Ella Rickard was seventh in the 50y free (40:50) and fifth in the
100y backstroke (2:01.68) AnnMarie Shirley was sixth in the 100y breaststroke
(1:51.47) and in the 50y free (38.76), and Mattie Tuttle placed fourth in the
50y free relay (34.37).
In relay events, Brown, Allison
Davis, Sarah Davis, and Leah Hartman recorded a second place finish in the 200y
medley with a time of 2:15.49. The same swimmers placed first in the 400 yard
free relay in the time of 4:36.92. Third-place finishes were earned by Costello,
Quinn Hartman, Shirley, and Tuttle in the 400y free relay (5:34.72) and the
200y free relay (2:29.56).
For the Patriot swimmers, Tad Kolton
Taylor earned a pair of first place finishes---in the 200y free with a time of
1:59.39 and the 100y breaststroke with a time of 1:10.12. Wessly Butler placed third
in the 100y backstroke (1:15.40) and fifth in the 50y free (29.88), Anthony
Carranco was fourth in the 100y back (1:28.84) and seventh in the 50y free
(31.59). Aaron Shain recorded fourth place finishes in the 200y IM (2:34.30)
and the 100y fly (1:16.87). Kash Taylor was third in the 100y free (1:10.13)
and fifth in the 100y breast (1:46.22). Bradley Wagoner was second in both the
50y free (27.95) and the 100y free (1:04.57) and Ryan Wolfe was second in the
500y free (6:17.93) and in the 100y back (1:14.95).
The 200y Medley Relay team of (2:12.52)
Shain, Tad Kolton Taylor, Wagoner, Wolfe placed second in a time of 2:12.52).
The 200y free relay team of Butler, Shain, Tad Kolton Taylor, and Wagoner placed
second in the time of 1:49.91.
The
middle school members of the swim team return to the water this Friday in a
middle school only event at Russell County. The entire team hits the water for
a meet Tuesday at Bowling Green.
